I have to admit, I’m really quite thrilled that the platform pump trend is slowly dying out. At the risk of offending my readers and publicizing controversial material, I’m going to tell you something: I hate platform pumps. I think they’re trashy looking. I invariably trip while attempting to navigating dark restaurants in them. Every cheap-looking Real Housewife on Bravo wear huge ones and they look ridiculous in them, and also trying to walk in them. Whatever, I’m totally over it. Now, I admit, I’m also a late 1990’s-early 2000’s Manolo Blahnik enthusiast to the point of obsession, so for me, the trend toward the 4″, no platform, slightly pointed toe stiletto is like coming home. I say, good riddance and ring in the New Year with better looking, classier shoes. #lucky #trends
Everyone likes different things. I appreciate all heels. Some I am not fond of but am still glad to see heels over flats. Never going to give up my platformed heels. 😉
I am not a huge fan of the pointy shoes, an almond toe is about it for me. But these are looking good. I will admit, I have some pointy ones, and they typically loss out to another pair when the decision comes up. 😉
Thanks for sharing. 😉
Ha! Thanks for your honesty. I’m super curious about everyone’s response to the new (old) trend.
Uh oh! Those are fighting words…j/k 🙂 I must admit…a pointed toe stiletto does have a more classier look than a platform pump. I think the platform pump caught on because they are easier to walk in than a 4 in. pointed toe stiletto. It will be interesting to see if women in significant numbers will be making the switch over to the stiletto.
:). Love it! Thanks for your comment. I’m so curious to know what everyone’s reaction will be. Listen, I wore platform pumps religiously for 5 years and I do love them because they make my legs looks great and I’m super tall in them. But I really can’t walk well in them and I think I’m just nostalgic for the 1990’s Blahnik.

Yay, I’m not the only person who thinks platform pumps look a bit like stripper shoes 😉
Love the pointy toe stiletto – they may squeeze your toes, but they look so much more elegant!
I’m on your side sister! I don’t like too much of a point, but I really just think the platform pump is cheap looking. I’m guilty of wearing them because they were trendy, but everyone looks ridiculous trying to walk in them!
…And the heavens opened and the angels sang! I have never purchased platform heels because I have a righteous caboose and that shoe style puts me on the express train to Stripperville. Looking forward to more of the new (old) style. Beautiful!
Amen! I’m so with you on this.
they are really beautiful but so hard to walk in :S
I definitely have trouble walking in them. The platform puts me off balance.
